AMASS at industry-targeted events

Previous posts have reported on AMASS presence at different conferences, workshops, and meetings, mostly at research-oriented ones (e.g. SAFECOMP 2016). However, the project’s dissemination activity has not been limited to only academic audiences, but AMASS has also been introduced at several industry-targeted events.

The 2nd edition of the ARTEMIS Technology Conference took place on 4-6 October 2016 in Madrid, Spain. This event provided a great opportunity for dissemination and networking of ARTEMIS-related work, including project presentations. AMASS was one of the projects presented at the conference. Huáscar Espinoza (Project Manager; Tecnalia) introduced the technological challenges addressed in AMASS, the related state of the art in industry, the envisioned technical solutions, and the technological challenges that are still to be tackled in the future for assurance and certification of cyber-physical systems (CPS). The project was presented at the “Future CPS industrial research challenges” workshop. Other workshops dealt with “Smart Cities”, “Smart Energy”, and “Interoperability in CPS and IoT”.

TRC World is a conference organised by The REUSE Company. It was held on 6-7 October 2016 in Leganés, Spain, and its main theme was “Quality Management and Systems Engineering”. Researchers from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid also participated in the conference. Both The REUSE Company and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid introduced their planned work and envisioned results in AMASS to other attendees, which included practitioners from different companies and sectors, and with different roles: Fusion for Energy, Magna, Safran, Syntell, ULMA, XTRONIC… The general aspects presented and discussed at the conference include quality management applied to the V-model, modern practices for requirements authoring, knowledge-centric systems engineering, and exchange of experiences among industrial users.

AMASS partners plan to participate in further industry-targeted events during the project. This participation will play a key role in the project’ s industrial impact and exploitation by third parties. It is very important that practitioners that are not part of the AMASS consortium gain awareness of the project, its results, and the benefits of using the results.
